Special Edition for Sunday, May 9, 2010
Nostalgia and sentiment ran deep in Victorian popular music,
and James Royce (1881-1946,
AKA James Royce Shannon) piled it up even
deeper. Most famous for his lyrics for the Missouri Waltz, he
tugged every possible heart-string with his other hits like Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra (That's an
Irish Lullaby), Back
to Tennessee, My
Pretty Eileen Goodnight, In the Hills of Old Kentucky,
and even Aloha Sunset
Land. In 1912, he wrote this tear-jerking favorite, Tales My Mother Told to Me.
We dab away a tear or two as we share this heart-warming vintage sheet
music image with you.

with rubber-stamp guru, Mike
Strong. He talked with us about the ups and downs of
the rubber stamp business (yes, that was a pun) and we'll be sharing
his exclusive interview with you!
And the next issue will have a new, shorter and snappier name.
In the spirit of conservation and downsizing, we are recycling some of
the 28 bloated letters and spaces of Crafting With A Vintage Look,
to create the leaner, greener, and easier to type, THE VIC.
It all begins in the next issue!.
