The VIC Pictorial: A Spicy Mother's Day Card! CORRECTED
May 06, 2012

Issue #92

A Spicy Recipe for
Mother's Day!

We've invited some celebrity spokespersons to introduce our VIC Exclusive Mother's Day craft for 2012:

"Colours of the world
Spice up your life
Every boy and every girl
Spice up your life
People of the world
Spice up your life
The Spice Girls on Vintage Image CraftYes, it's the already obsolete Spice Girls! They are here to remind you that spices have always been part of crafting. Remember applesauce and cinnamon clay? Potpourri? Tying cinnamon sticks to a wreath?

Thank you, Spice Girls... you can go back to hand-crafting your costumes now.

For this Mother's Day, we want to give you a crafting technique that will keep giving through the year. We call it "Sugar and Spice," and it is a flagrant (and fragrant) variation on "Glitter Lace," championed by Barbara Trombley at Art Glitter. And it is very easy to do.

Take a look at our Mother's Day card for 2012. The colors are muted and natural. The texture is tantalizing. There is a subtle sparkle of spray glitter. And the scent of cinnamon and ginger. This is a technique you will use again and again. It's the sweetest thing!
