Halloween Treats Bucket

Halloween Treat Can 1
My entry is a repurposed paint can that would be great for holding Halloween treats!
I covered the can in a vintage looking black and white polka dot paper on the bottom and a distressed orange tone on tone paper on the top. Between the two papers I used a sparkly black fiber to wrap around the can.
The center design was created from last week’s Facebook image and the Halloween Pop Up Card from your website. The images were placed on graduated background shapes of orange, yellow and black. The top orange layer was distressed and spattered with black paint. I cut out and placed the designs, putting green glitter on the witch’s dress, Diamond Dust in the pumpkin’s eyes and black glitter on the bat’s body. The wording is from Martha Stewart’s magazine: When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers "’tis near Halloween!"
The top of the can has white dots around the black cardstock circle that were made with a white gel pen. The decorative shape and letters were out with my Cricut and SCAL program. I used black pen to make a border and distressed the shape. I used some of the black and white polka dot paper to create a faux ribbon and jazzed it up with black glitter. The lettering is layered orange over yellow cardstock. I used the Swiss dots Cuttlebug folder on the orange letters then sanded and distressed them. The bottom yellow letter shadow layer was also distressed, then I used a brown marker to add more shadows on the shape under the letters. I punched a circle out of black cardstock and wrote “Halloween” on it with white gel pen. I attached this to a rusty bottle cap and stuck it above “TREATS”. The handle has distressed orange fabric strips wrapped around it with little bows next to the can.
This is the first challenge I’ve ever participated in. It was lots of fun and I hope to submit another project soon. Thank you for sharing all the great vintage files and for putting on the challenge!
