Night Life - digital collage

"Night Life" pays homage to my the special time when all beautiful things in the world go to sleep. All is dark and quiet. Yet, 'neath the candle light, the colors of all living flora and fauna to come alive with a magical essence.

Girl - Vintage Image Craft
All flora - Granny Art
Overlay - Shadowhouse

I've had the background so long I don't know where I got it. I's a pre-made terrace with vine-drenched arches. All of the flowers and greenery were arranged in the manner in which they now appear. Then, I added shadows and blending modes with PhotoShop to give each dimension. The chandelier went in place and I added sparkles, a tiny square brush, on each of the candles to look like candle light, complete with an 'outer glow' to give off light. After placing all other objects used, including the girl, I added an overlay called, "Difference Maker", and it does. It adds a depth with some shadow that finishes off an image to where it looks more realistic.

Long Dinner LOL
by: Su Hall

Hey, there,

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you all. I have a "resource" page on my blog. I just wanted to bring it up to date with the collage and vintage sites. There are enough to keep ya'll busy for a while. LOL Be sure to check out all the side bars on these sites for links to other jewels. Tee-hee. I have this down to an art.

Under the header, there is a 'menu', with HOME and RESOURCES. Click on RESOURCES and have fun.

I have scrapbooking kits and other goodies on my blog, myself, so, feel free. I have no special terms. I've made it as practice while learning Photoshop.

I know this probably wasn't the place for this, but, it has been nice chatting with you and hope I have helped you find some great inspiration.

A note for Helen
by: Su Hall

I thank you both for your kind comments.

Helen, there are collage sheets and other ephemera and trinkets all over some of the websites. I belong to a Ning group, Digital Whisper, where collage sheets are mostly the medium. There are free downloads and challenges every week. I have learned more there than about anywhere.

Anyone who might be interested is more than welcome to join. There are some amazing artists there, yet they are the most supportive of all! LOL

Other than that, there are just so many. I found one site, Art-e-zine, and checked their 'resources and links'. There I found a good many sites to peruse.

You already have the talent. Best wishes!

Wow Sue this is amazing. I just love the way you have incorporated the image into your background. The colours are lovely and you can almost imagine that you are in the picture with her. Really beautiful thanks so much for sharing.

I have never tried digital collage and would love to give it a go if I knew where and how to start. (Any tips).
