Clarence Underwood
(1871 Jamestown, NY - 1929 New York)
Underwood
trained
at the Art Students League and the Julian Art Academy in Paris.
He was an important illustrator
of magazine covers for Century,
Studio, McClure's Harper's and The Saturday Evening Post,
who found himself in great demand during the great
postcard era. He is known for his beautiful women, often
wearing colorful hats.
